Our little miracle baby has arrived! Palmer was born Friday, 4/29. He weighed 7 lbs., 15 oz. and was 20.25" long.
Mother and baby are doing well!
After writing my first email to friends and family I quickly realized that I had incorrectly announced the length at 24" long! I guess that's what happens when you try to compose a message in between nurse and doctor visits to your room ;)
During this special time our hearts and minds are especially sensitive and emotional. Yesterday as I was looking into Palmer's little hospital bassinet I saw that the hospital staff had taken little footprints of him and placed it into the bassinet for us.
Inside was this card with a little poem on it that touched my heart as I read it.
Everyday I'm growing,
and soon I'll be so tall,
So here's a special footprint
just so you can recall
Exactly how my foot looked
when I was very small
They say children grow up so very past which just goes to show how relative time really is a function of the viewpoint of the observer (as Einstein would say).
My hope is that we can be the best parents we know how to be, treasure every precious moment with our child, learn from those around us and always look for the best in others.
They say, "It takes a village to raise a child" and I believe that.
Thank you to all who have given us help, encouragement and hope along the way. We want to thank everyone who has prayed for us along the way and for those who have brightened our day and helped us when we needed it.
I know that we are just beginning this new adventure called parenthood.
